“Searching for Connection”

My eye is attracted to capturing the natural order in the world around me — the grid and design of places intersecting with the quirkiness of human beings. Sometimes it’s easier for me to communicate what I’m feeling through pictures instead of words. Sharing what I see - beauty amidst feeling lonely or joy within the everyday - is a gift to start conversation and find common ground with other people.

For my images, I’ve stripped down to the smallest object, and one that we all share, my iPhone. There’s an egalitarian access with this method that feels more relatable, more tangible. Using its embedded features (like hyper-lapse, filters), I’m inspired by being able to speak in the same language as the images are viewed by the people in my life.
